Knowing nothing about RelatioNet project? Having no idea what are you doing on this particular blog? Being not sure, if you’ve already understood the purpose of our work? If so, just a few words for you.
First of all, we want to thank you for spending your time, reading this blog. Our names are Agata and Monica, we are high-school students from Warsaw, capital of Poland. We’re 18 and about November 2007 we’ve became engaged in RelatioNet project and by then we’d known completely nothing about it – like you may do now. It’s kind of an international project, which main idea is to create websites (in the form of blogs) about those, who were saving Jews during the IIWW – and about the Jews saved by them. Youth from various countries are up to find out as much as they can about people they are creating a blog about. Many of this people are still alive – but we are pressed by time. Probably you’ve already came across this project or heard about some of the Saviors and Survivors, just having not realized. I mean for example such people as Irena Sendler (regrettably, she died on 12.05.2008) – great authorities and most valuable present-day heroes, who we often hear about.
Creating the blogs shows us – young people of the next generation – how to find and talk to such people, how to listen them. Such a blog is a mix of the memories from the past and a fresh view of us, teenagers. We tried to make our blog as interesting as it could be, fitting the main idea, but fulfilling it with our visions and reflections. And so this is a history of Ryszard Matuszewski, great Polish poet and writer, but also one of the Saviors, who helped to rescue 5 Jewish existences. We hope you will find this project and our blog interesting and maybe even touching. Welcome then.

Przede wszystkim, pragniemy bardzo podziękować za czas spędzony tutaj na czytaniu tego bloga. Mamy na imię Agata i Monika, jesteśmy licealistkami z Warszawy. Mamy po osiemnaście lat. W listopadzie 2007 zaangażowałyśmy się w projekt RelatioNet, nie wiedząc wcześniej o nim zupełnie niczego – być może jak Ty teraz. Jest to pewien międzynarodowy projekt, którego głównym założeniem jest tworzenie stron internetowych (w formie blogów) o tych, którzy ratowali Żydów w czasie II Wojny Światowej – i o tych, którzy zostali przez nich uratowani. Młodzież z całego świata ma wyszukiwać tak wiele informacji jak tylko mogą na temat osób, o których tworzą blogi. Wiele z tych osób jeszcze żyje – ale czas nas goni. Pewnie natknąłeś się już na ten projekt, albo słyszałeś o niektórych z Ocalonych bądź Sprawiedliwych, po prostu o tym nie wiedząc. Mam na myśli takie osoby jak Irena Sendler (która zmarła niestety 12.05.2008) – wielkie autorytety i najbardziej wartościowych bohaterów współczesnego świata, o których często się słyszy.
Tworzenie bloga pokazało nam – młodym ludziom najmłodszego pokolenia – jak znaleźć i rozmawiać z takmi osobami, jak ich słuchać. Taki blog jest połączeniem wspomnień z przeszłości i naszego, nastoletniego świeżego spojrzenia. Starałyśmy się stworzyć nasz blog interesującym, realizując zalożenia projektu, ale wypełniając go naszą wizją i przemyśleniami. Oto przed Tobą historia Ryszarda Matuszewskiego, wspaniałego polskiego poety i pisarza, ale także jednego ze Sprawiedliwych, który pomógł uratować pięć istnień ludzkich. Mam nadzieję, że projekt Cię zainteresuje, a może nawet wzruszy. Zatem – witamy.
